The shop that updates those prices one card at a time is still on last week's list when Saturday's queue arrives. This is not a wholesale problem in the ordinary sense. Groceries do not reprice overnight because a ruling dropped. Fashion does not rewrite a size run because a list went live at midnight.

A supermarket till assumes one barcode equals one product. A trading-card shop lives with languages, regions, sets, editions, sealed boxes and singles that all claim to be the same card until they are not. You can put a newsagent, a fashion boutique and a card shop on the same high street.
